An unidentified female died in a mobile home fire at M&M Mobile Home Park, also known Blueberry Hill, Tuesday afternoon.
Alabama State Fire Marshall Mike Talley was called to the scene to investigate the incident.
Talley said the autopsy would determine the exact cause of death.
Appleton Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mike Tyler said the victim was the only person found in the home.
Eyewitnesses at the scene said the victim was seen going into the home shortly before smoke was noticed coming from the mobile home.
Appleton Volunteer Fire Fighters were dispatched to the dispatched to the scene just after 1 p.m. Tuesday. The mobile home was fully engulfed in flames when fire fighters arrived on the scene.
Members of the Brewton Fire Department assisted in the blaze. Brewton Police Department offices as well as members of the Escambia County Sheriffs Department and the West Escambia Chapter of the American Red Cross also responded to the scene.
