Mrs. Clara Queen Victoria Franklin Davis, 100, died Saturday, June 27, 2009. She was a native of Franklinton, in Conecuh County. She was very active in her church and in the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Jeff, Minnie, Julia, Charlie, Shelly and Benjamin; and her husband of 71 years, Joseph Davis.
She is survived by her children, Minnie Ruth Davis (Eugene, Sr.) Bradley, Cleopatra Davis (McArthur) Williams, Claude (Mary Louise Jackson) Davis, Gloria Davis Blount (Huey) McNair, Joe Huly (Annette) Davis, George Edward (Voncile Salter) Davis, Julia Ann Davis Warren and two who preceded her in death; 38 grandchildren; and a host of third, fourth and fifth generation great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 3, at 2 p.m. at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Evergreen with the Rev. Duron K. Odoms officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
