Mr. William Earl Butler, 72, died Sunday, July 26, 2009, at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native and life long resident of Conecuh County. He was a member of the Way of the Cross Church and a retired truck driver with the U.S. Postal Service.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carol Loutit Butler of Repton; 10 children, Ann (Mike) Faircloth of Crestview, Fla, Eulane (Mike) Hill of Stapleton, Donna (Matt) Deese of Marianna, Fla., Renee (Leeclay) Barfield of Pensacola, Fla., Earlene (John) Godwin of Rosinton, Billy (Carla) Barton of Witchita Falls, Texas, Marc (Julie) LaBelle and Paul (Cheryl) LaBell, both of Bremerton, Wash., James (Chantry) LaBell of Centerville, Mass., and Lyn (Sam) Lininger of Chambersburg, Penn.; four sisters, Bessie Ruth (Robert) Barnett of Castleberry, Betty Sue Murray of Colorado Springs, Col., Merle (Don) Brown of Mobile, and Dorothy (John) Davis of Lenox; a sister-in-law, Gloria Butler of Berrydale, Fla.; 34 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 12 nieces; six nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 30, at 3 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Garvin Freeman officiating. Burial followed at Ramah Church Cemetery in Lenox, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
