Mrs. Mary Hazel McKee Massey, 88, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, in a local nursing facility after an extended illness. She was a native and long time resident of DeKalb, Miss., before moving to Brewton. She was a member of Big Oak Methodist Church and a retired inspector from the textile industry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Jack” Thurman Massey.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Massey (Everette) Price of Brewton; a son, Tommie Ray (Billie) Massey of Lancaster, Penn.; three grandchildren, Christopher Massey, Kristal Speller and Greg Massey; three great-grandchildren, Jackson Massey, Caitlin Massey, and Andrew Massey; three step-grandchildren. Allen Price, Kate Price Howard and Blake Price.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. at Barham Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Massey officiating. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Meridian, Miss., with Williams Memorial Chapel Funera Home is charge of local arrangements, and Barham Family Funeral Home directing.
