Mrs. Diane Gloria Gun Gulley, 59, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009. She was a native of Brewton and a long time resident of Detroit, Mich., before returning to Brewton. She became a LPN at the age of 19, and later received a degree in gerontology. Over the past 29 years, she worked in nursing in Michigan and Alabama. She was also an active member of the community working with seniors. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and a former member of Galatians Missionary Church in Detroit. She had been a member of the Brewton Housing Authority Board and a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.
She is survived by a son, Terrance Gulley of Detroit; a grandson, Daniel Gulley of Detroit; her siblings, Marie (A.T.) Blake of Los Angeles, Calif., Dorothy Richardson and Freddie (Barbara) Gulley, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kathy (Wayne) Cortrell of North Betheda, Maryland, Jacqueline Humphrey of Atlanta, Ga., and Claudia (Walter) Fowler of Brewton; an aunt, Beatrice Leonard of Clinton, La.; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. at Second St. Siloam Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie J. Blue officiating. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
