Mr. Clyde B. Wilcox, 82, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at her residence in Castleberry. She was a native of Illinois, and a resident of Castleberry for the past 41 years, coming from Lexington, Ken. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of Brigham Young University and a retired geologist, working in the oil industry He was a member of the Atmore branch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Taylor Wilcox; a sister, Lucy Doty; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Vanausdale.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Ballard Wilcox of Castleberry; four sons, Terry (Vicki) Wilcox of Nephi, Utah, David (Pam) Wilcox of Tampa, Fla., and Wade (Melody) Wilcox and Rex (Jefflyn) Wilcox, both of Castleberry; a daughter, Sandy (Buzz) Ray of Dallas, Ga.; a brother, Carl (Gwen) Wilcox of San Francisco, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 2, at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Elder Wayne R. Jenson officiating. Burial followed at Baggett’s Chapel Cemetery in Belleville, with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
