Mr. Edgar Hubbard Owens, 62, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, in a Montgomery hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Brewton. He was a pharmacist at Brewton Medical Center for a number of years, and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Brewton, the Brewton Rotary Club, the State Pharmacy Association and a director at First Progressive Bank in Brewton.
He is survived by a son, John Paul (Victoria) Owens of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Shelley Owens of Brewton; a brother, Paul D. (Kate) Owens Jr. of Brewton; and three grandchildren, Matthew Carr, Kai Owens and Alessandra Owens.
Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. at Union Cemetery with Dr. Ed Glaize officiating and Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Greater Brewton Foundation or memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Brewton.
