City needs skating rink, not sidewalks

Dear Editor,
My name is Emma-Lee Hope Waldrop. I attend W.S. Neal Middle School. I am 11 years old and I live in East Brewton.
I really do not like the fact they are putting brand new sidewalks where hardly anybody walks and they built a so-called skate ramp and nobody uses it. Although the boardwalk from Burnt Corn to O’Bannon park is nice, was it really necessary? I think not.
I think they should build a drug-free skating rink or a movie theater or even just let our youth be more involved in projects for the cities. There are three huge places just sitting, wasting. That is, the old “Walmart,” the old “Kmart” and the old “Piggly Wiggly.” Any of these places would make the perfect place for a skating rink or a movie theater.
To the city officials: I would appreciate it if you take this letter to heart and help out as much as you can.
Yours truly,
Emma-Lee Hope Waldrop
