Ethel Kate “E.K.” Davis Ryals

Mrs. Ethel Kate “E.K.” Davis Ryals, 89, died Monday, Aug. 16, 2010. She was a native of Brewton and had worked at the Ribbon Mill in Brewton, at St. Regis Paper Company and retired from Monsanto. She was an active member of East Brent Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Albert Ryals; her brothers, James Clarence Davis and Claude Lee Davis; her sisters, Lena Ruth Dickson and Laura Lucille Bagley.
She is survived by her sons, David (Debra) Ryals and Jim (Joyce) Ryals; four grandchildren, Ashley Ryals, Katy McDonald, Jason (Courtney) McDonald and David Young; one great-grandson, Jackson McDonald; a sister, Myrtle (Swede) Danielson; sisters-in-law, Louise Davis, Christine Gandy, Ann (Ross) Barnes, Marie (Billy) Dawson and Jane (Leotis) Garrett; brothers-in-law, Ray Bagley and Raymond Dixon; two special nieces, Linda Barrow and Beverly Milsted and many other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 20, at 10 a.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment with Brother Dale Patterson officiating. Burial followed at 1 p.m. at Ramah Cemetery in Lenox with Faith Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Ray Danielson, Richard Davis, Victor Bagley, Jim Ryals, Shane Milsted and Billy Danielson.
