Ernest Lee “Ernie” Courtney, 39, of Frisco City, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at his home. He was born in Clearwater, Fla., and grew up in Pensacola. He lived in Monroe County for 29 years and worked with Burford Tree Service as a foreman.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Woodrow Courtney.
Survivors include his mother, Elaine Lambeth of Brewton; a son, Justin Courtney of Monroeville; two brothers, Luke (Marla) Courtney and Michael (Lou) Courtney, both of Pensacola; four sisters, Tammy (David) McCray of Virginia, Janna (Don) Boyd of Pensacola, Cindy Courtney of Brewton and Brenda “Sissy” (Talha) Taqub of Georgia; nieces and nephews; and stepbrothers and stepsisters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. James Boyd officiating. Burial will be at Monroe Chapel Cemetery in Frisco City.
Visitation will be from 5 yo 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David McCray, Luke Courtney, Don Boyd, Thomas Meshell, Buddy Sanders and Jamie Watson. Honorary pallbearer is Lucas Courtney.
