A young roster of 17 players, 16 freshmen and one sophomore, greet the 2010-2011 Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team.
JDCC head coach Allen Gainer said he is very excited about the promise of this year’s team.
“I’ve never had a team work so hard in preseason,” Gainer said. “They have stayed focused on improving and have shown great discipline with everything they are doing.
“We have a tough early schedule, and I’m concerned with having no experienced players that we could get discouraged, but I believe that they have an opportunity to compete with the top teams in our region if they can maintain their focus.”
