City officials joined last year’s Leadership Brewton class Sunday afternoon to celebrate the rededication of Alco Park.

The leadership class collected donations over the past year to install new playground equipment and build a gazebo at the park. Class members also held cleanup days there.

“It’s such a great day in the City of Brewton,” Mayor Ted Jennings said. “This leadership team learned what needed to be done and went out and did it. We hope this is a springboard for other things, when people see how a group comes together, sees a need and works to make it happen.”
