JDCC falls to Faulkner State on road Tuesday

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team saw their record drop to 5-8 overall and 2-2 in conference play Tuesday night on the road as they lost to Faulkner State 86-69.
The Warhawks of Brewton were outscored by 16 points, 42-26, in the first half and by one in the second half, 44-43, to lose by 17 points.
JDCC shot 50 percent from the field (29-for-58) while Faulkner was 35-for-62 fro 56.5 percent.
The Warhawks were 2-for-13 from the 3-point arch for 15.4 percent while Faulkner was 3-for-10 for 30 percent. JDCC shot 9-of-15 from the free throw line for 60 percent while Faulkner was 13-for-21 fro 61.9 percent.
Braylon Lazare led JDCC with 16 points and one block while Daryl Duncan had 14 points. Kahlee Tyler had 10 points and two steals and Brandon Scott had nine points with two steals, seven assists, three offensive rebounds and eight total rebounds to lead the team.
Turmonte Ragland had eight points and Gabriel Rice added five points with one block and six defensive rebounds.
Sherman Presswood added four points and one block and Adam Stumpf had two points.
Larel Jackson chipped in one point in the loss for the Warhawks.
JDCC will be back in action Thursday at home at 7 p.m. against LBW. JDCC will have a makeup game against Southern Union in Wadley Saturday at 7 p.m.
This game is a weather makeup game from earlier in the season, January 10.
