The 2011 Jefferson Davis Community College baseball team will start their season Friday, Jan. 28.
The Friday game will be on the road, as the Warhawks will travel to Lawson State Community College in Birmingham for a 1 p.m. nine-inning game.
The 2011 Warhawks schedule shows 52 total games on the schedule with 37 games scheduled and 15 being doubleheaders.
JDCC will have 21 away games and 16 home games with the first home game being Saturday, Jan. 29 against Marion Military Institute. That game will be the first doubleheader of the season and will begin at noon.
The JDCC roster this spring shows 25 players with eight sophomores and 17 freshmen. Of the 25 players, 10 are from Alabama, 13 from Florida, one from Missouri and one from New York.
JDCC went 17-30 overall last season and 11-17 in conference play.
No players from Brewton or East Brewton are on the 2011 Warhawk team, but Warhawk Cody Vickrey is from Atmore and Dillion Smith is from Jay.
The Warhawks are under the leadership of head coach Darrell Blevins with Adam Reed serving as assistant coach.
