JDCC basketball gets win over Faulkner State Thursday

While the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team took a loss of a teammate due to injury Thursday night, they did hang on for a 60-57 win over Faulkner State.
The Warhawks lost Kahlee Tyler to an arm injury in the game but hung on to improve their record to 10-11 overall and to 7-5 in conference play.
The Warhawks built a 16-point lead in the second half prior to Tyler’s injury but saw their lead fall to only two points after losing Tyler.
From there, JDCC hung on for the win thanks to a great play at the end of the game by Gabriel Rice and Larel Jackson according to head coach Allen Gainer.
JDCC led 39-29 after the first half but was outscored 28-21 in the second.
Braylon Lazare led the Warhawks with 15 points and Rice followed with 14. Brandon Scott chipped in eight points and Turmonte Ragland had six.
Daryl Duncan added five and Joshua Fealing and Jackson had four points each. Tyler had three and Sherman Presswood had one point in the win for the Warhawks.
JDCC will be back in action today at LBW and will play at home Monday against Wallace State-Selma at 7 p.m.
