Gwendolyn Priscilla “Gwen” Clayton

Mrs. Gwendolyn Priscilla “Gwen” Clayton, 83, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at her East Brewton Residence.

Mrs. Clayton was a native and lifelong resident of the Brewton area. She and her husband Jack owned and operated Modern Dry Cleaners for over 25 years. She was a charter member of East Brewton First Baptist Church. Mrs. Clayton was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jack Clayton.

She is survived by a son, Jackson (Monica) Clayton of East Brewton; three daughters, Jackie C. (Freddy) Jernigan of Milton, FL, Nancy C. (Danny) Watson of Brewton, AL, and Lisa (Jeffrey) Burgess of Bay Minette; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; a number of nieces and nephews; and special caregivers and friends, Wanda Andrews of Brewton and Mattie Robbins of Brewton.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with speaker and specail friend, John Gleaton officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Crawford Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Keith Shell, Ashton Burgess, Tony Sims, Kevin Young, David Dixon, and Harry Dixon

Visitation will be held at Craver’s Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.
