TRM varsity baseball drops first loss

The T.R. Miller Tiger baseball team suffered their first loss of the season Tuesday night at home to Flomaton, losing 4-0 to the Hurricanes.
With the loss, the Tigers record dropped to 6-1.
Flomaton scored three runs in the third inning and added a late run in the fifth while holding the Tigers scoreless.
The three runs in the third inning for Flomaton came courtesy of back-to-back triples for the Hurricanes.
Flomaton had seven hits in the win and committed no errors while the Tigers were held to five hits and committed two errors.
Another key stat in the loss for the Tigers was the eight runners left on base. T.R. Miller stranded a runner on third in the third inning and in the fourth, left runners on first and third.
In the fifth, T.R. Miller left the bases loaded and in the seventh, left runners on first and second.
Jacob Fillmore and Caleb McAnally were both 1-for-3 for T.R. Miller at the plate and Kameron Winn, Collin Graves, and Wil Riggs were all 1-for-2.
Shawn Odom got the start on the mound and took the loss. Odom pitched three innings allowing four hits, three runs, two walks, struck out four, and hit one.
Conner Denton pitched three innings in relief allowing three hits, one runs, walked three and struck out four.
Fillmore went the final inning and struck out one.
TRM JV 12, Flomaton 11
The T.R. Miller Tiger JV team earned a thrilling 12-11 win over the Hurricanes Tuesday to improve their record to 2-2.
Down 9-1, T.R. Miller scored 10 runs in the third inning to take an 11-9 win over the Hurricanes. After Flomaton tied the game with two runs in the top of the fourth, T.R. Miller got one run in the bottom of the inning to get the win, 12-11.
Flomaton scored one run each in the first two innings to lead 2-0. T.R. Miller added one run in the bottom of the second only to see Flomaton scored seven in the top of the third inning.
Ryann Gray earned the win in relief of starter Darby Black. Black went 2 2/3 innings allowing two hits, eight runs, one earned, walked five and struck out five. Gray went the final 1 1/3 innings allowing three hits, three runs, one earned, two walks and struck out one.
At the plate for T.R. Miller, Brett Smith was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Cody Smith was 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Black was 1-for-2 and Dominique Jackson was 1-for-2 with a double. Rob Stokes was 1-for-2 with one RBI and Gray had one RBI.
Caden Lodge was 1-for-3 with one RBI along with Kieon Smith. Zac Griffin was 1-for-2.
On Monday, the Tigers lost to Jackson 5-0 and 5-3.
