The city of Brewton will need to consider redrawing its city council district lines after the 2010 Census, Mayor Ted Jennings said.
Jennings recommended the city work with the South Alabama Regional Planning Commission on the new district lines.
Brewton’s population dropped slightly in the 2010 Census.
Jennings said he hopes the new lines will be drawn by August.
“That’s when people can seriously consider raising funds” if they want to run for office in 2012, he said.
The planning commission will work with City Clerk John Angel on the new district lines, Jennings said.
