In game one, W.S. Neal won 12-2 over Hillcrest.
The Lady Eagles were led by Britta Wood at the plate who went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four stolen bases. Jade Danley was 2-for-2 with one walk and one run scored and Kena Ellison was 1-for-3 with two runs scored.
Kaitlin Hadaway pitched five innings for the Lady Eagles in the win allowing no hits and two unearned runs striking out seven and walking two.
It was nice to end area play with a win,” W.S. Neal Lady Eagle head coach Jeff Haney said. “Finishing 4-4 in the area is not where we wanted to be, but we have the area tournament to make up for that. The girls did a good job at the plate in the first couple
innings scoring eight in that time. We had three hits and four stolen bases in the fifth to get four more runs. Kaitlin did a great job pitching, and was able to overcome a couple of errors early that led to their runs.”

In the second game, W.S. Neal lost 8-3.
Jade Danley had one hit and Taylor Boatwright had one hit. Kena Ellison, Christina Robinson, and Taylor Boatwright accounted for the Lady Eagles’ three runs. Danley took the loss in the four-inning game striking out five.
“This game gave some of our younger girls a chance to get some more experience,” Haney said. “I am proud of the way we played, especially since we were playing the same players we played against in the first game. The future for the Eagles looks bright.”
