JDCC baseball drops five straight, 14 of last 15

After ended their 10-game losing streak with a win over Enterprise last week, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team hit another streak in their recent five games.
The Warhawks have recently dropped five straight and lost 14 of their last 15 games.
JDCC lost game two to Enterprise last week and then have lost a doubleheader to Chattahoochee Valley Saturday, and single games against Alabama Southern Monday and at LBW Wednesday. With the losses, JDCC is now 14-28-1 overall and 4-18 in conference play.
The Warhawks are set to return to action Friday at Wallace State Selma and will play home games against Bishop State Sunday at 1 p.m. and Southern Union Tuesday also at 1 p.m.
CVCC 6, JDCC 5
Leading 4-0 after the top of the fourth, the JDCC Warhawks were outscored 6-1 the remainder of the game to lose 6-5 to Chattahoochee Valley.
Ryne Drummonds took the loss on the mound for the Warhawks pitching 4 1/3 innings allowing five hits, three runs, two earned, walked three and struck out five.
Nathan Edwards was 2-for-5 for JDCC and Brandon Blackwelder was 1-for-5. Jordan Creel was 2-for-4 with a double and Bennie Britton was 1-for-5.
Matthew Watkins was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI and Bill Hamrick was 1-for-4. Maurice Leverett was 1-for-2 with a double.
CVCC 15, JDCC 1
In game two, Chatt Valley scored 15 runs one 15 hits while holding JDCC to one run on three hits to sweep the Warhawks.
Corey Thompson took the loss for JDCC pitching two innings allowing one hit, three runs, one earned, walked two and struck out three.
At the plate, Edwards was 1-for-2 and Hamrick was 2-for-2. Dustin Bickmeyer had a triple for JDCC and Leverett had a double in the loss.
ASCC 10, JDCC 0
Monday at home, JDCC lost to rival Alabama Southern 10-0 to fall to 4-17 in conference play and 14-27-1 overall with their fourth straight loss.
Alabama Southern led 1-0 after the first inning but scored six runs in the second inning along with two in the third and one in the fifth to get the win while holding JDCC scoreless and to only four hits.
Creel was 1-for-1 and Tyler Walker was 2-for-2 with a double and Watkins was 1-for-2 with a double.
Joey Hedden took the loss on the mound for the Warhawks pitching two innings allowing six hits, seven runs, six earned, walked and struck out none.
LBW 9, JDCC 4
Wednesday in Andalusia, JDCC lost to the LBW Saints 9-4.
JDCC trailed 6-2 after six innings, but scored two in the seventh to cut the lead to two runs at 6-4.
In the bottom of the eighth, LBW plated three runs to take a 9-4 lead and get the win by five.
Drummonds took the loss on the mound pitching four innings allowing seven hits, five runs, three earned, walked four and struck out three.
Blackwelder was 1-for-5 and Creel was 1-for-2.
Walker was 1-for-4 with a double and one RBI and Watkins was 1-for-4. Hamrick was 1-for-5 with one RBI and Bickmeyer was 1-for-1.
