The T.R. Miller golf team saw their season come to an end Monday in Montgomery at sectionals.
The Tigers fell to Montgomery Academy, Montgomery Catholic, Slocomb, LAMP and Trinity.
For the Tigers, Daniel Bass led the way shooting a 93 followed by Will Smith with a 96.
Mooney Nalty scored a 101 followed by Shan Fleming with a 102 and Troy Hart with a 103.
“I am very proud of the team and they worked very hard to get themselves qualified for section,” T.R. Miller Tiger head coach Marc Edge said. “I would have liked to have scored better, but between wind and nerves we just didn’t get the job done. We want to use this year’s success to continue to build. To be in the first year of the getting golf rolling again and to make it to section was beyond my imagination for this year. We will have spots to fill next year and we will be looking for players.”
Edge said what is exciting is that the Tigers had such a young team, they have got valuable experience to help them down the road.
“I would like to thank all the people who helped make this season a success,” Edge said. “Whether by their time or their financial support or both we had a great year and they helped make it possible.”
