Warhawk baseball destroys Enterprise 22-5

Twenty-two runs on 29 hits: That is what the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team did in their final road game of the season Friday at Enterprise.
The Warhawks cruised their way to a 22-5 win improving their record to 17-32-1 overall and 7-22 in conference play.
JDCC led 4-0 after the first inning and scored seven runs in the fourth to lead 11-0 after the op of the fourth. After Enterprise cut the lead to 11-2 in the bottom of the fourth, JDCC scored one run in the fifth and four in the sixth to extend their lead to 16-2.
Enterprise scored three in the sixth to cut the JDCC lead to 16-5, but JDCC added six in the top of the seventh to take a 17-run lead, 22-5, and get the win after neither team scored in the final two innings.
Ryne Drummonds earned the win on the mound going 6 2/3 innings allowing seven hits, five runs, two earned, walked two and struck out four.
Chris Peak went the final 1/3 inning allowing one walk.
Lee Hunter was 4-for-6 for the Warhawks with two homeruns and three RBIs.
Xavier Cunningham was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and Brandon Blackwelder was 1-for-4 with a double.
Tyler Walker was a perfect 5-for-5 for JDCC in the win with one RBI. Walker had a triple and a double in the win.
Matthew Watkins was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and Bill Hamrick was 5-for-6 with three RBIs and a double.
Dustin Bickmeyer was 1-for-1 and Robbie Jernigan was 4-for-6 with two RBI and Maurice Leverett was 4-for-6 with two RBIs as well.
Brandon Johnson was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
JDCC lost their final game of the season at home Saturday losing to Chattahoochee Valley 9-5 to end their season 17-33-1 overall and 7-23 in conference play.
