JDCC baseball loses finale at home to CVCC

In their final regular season game of the 2011 season, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team lost at home to Chattahoochee Valley 8-5.
The lost end JDCC’s season with a 17-33-1 overall record and a 7-23 conference record.
JDCC outhit CVCC 10-9 in the loss but made three errors while CVCC made one.
CVCC led 2-0 after two innings of play, but saw JDCC cut the lead to 2-1 in the third.
From there, CVCC would add two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth to take a 7-1 lead.
JDCC would later plate four in the eighth inning to cut the lead to 7-5, but CVCC would get one run in the ninth and hold JDCC to get the three-run win.
At the plate for JDCC, Nathan Edwards was 2-for-4 along with Jordan Creel. Ryne Drummonds was 1-for-2 with a double and one RBI and Tyler Walker was 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Bill Hamrick went 1-for-4 with one RBI in the loss and Robbie Jernigan was 1-for-3 with one RBI. Maurice Leverett had one hit in the loss for JDCC.
On the mound for the Warhawks, Tyler Moore took the loss going three innings and allowing four hits, four runs, three earned, walked six and struck out four.
