Indians lead Brewton Babe Ruth standings

The Brewton Babe Ruth Indians picked up a win Thursday and benefited from the Cardinals having the day off to take the lead in the league standings.
The Indians defeated the Yankees 10-6 to improve to 4-1 while the Yankees fell to 1-4.
In the second game, the Pirates defeated the Orioles 13-10 to improve their record to 2-3 while the Orioles saw their record fall to 2-3.
The Cardinals remained at 3-1.
After Thursday games, the Indians hold a one-game lead for first place over the Cardinals followed by the Pirates, Orioles, and Yankees.
Monday games were postponed until Friday due to the T.R. Miller spring sports banquet.
Tuesday and Thursday games are scheduled to be played at T.R. Miller with Monday’s games being played Friday in East Brewton.
Indians 10, Yankees 6
The Brewton Babe Ruth Indians picked up a 10-6 win over the Yankees Thursday to take the top spot of the league standings.
The Indians had seven hits with four being extra base hits.
After trailing 1-0 after the first inning, the Indians used a three-run second inning along with one run each in the next three innings and four runs in the sixth to get the win by four.
The Yankees scored one run in the first, two in the third, and three in the sixth in the loss.
Brandon Carmichael earned the win on the mound for the Indians while Hunter Harp, Rob Jones, and Colton Morris all pitched for the Yankees.
At the plate for the Indians, Carmichael was 2-for-4 with a triple and one RBI and Rob Stokes was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
Keaton Parker was 1-for-2 and Trippe Floyd was 1-for-4 with a homerun and two RBIs.
Dylan Etheridge was 2-for-3 with a triple in the win.
For the Yankees, Harp was 3-for-4 with a double and Jones was 1-for-2.
Morris was 1-for-3 along with Tim McDonald and Dakota Graves. McDonald and Graves were both 1-for-3 with a double.
Pirates 13, Orioles 10
Trailing 8-1 after the top of the third inning, the Pirates used a nine-run inning to take a 10-8 lead and scored late to get at 13-10 win.
The Orioles led 7-0 after the top of the second after scoring five runs in the second inning.
At the plate for the Orioles, Kieon Smith was 2-for-3 and Caden Lodge was 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs.
Dominique Jackson was 1-for-2 with three RBIs.
Smith pitched in the loss for the Orioles.
For the Pirates, Taylor Elliott was 1-for-3 and Chris Jones was 2-for-3. Robin Swift was 1-for-2 with a double and Lane Chavers was 2-for-3. Logan Allan and Cameron Morris were both 1-for-1.
Nick Glass pitched for the Pirates and Chris Jones picked up the win in relief of Glass.
