Alabama State Trooper officials have released the name of the Castleberry woman killed in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 31 North near Brewton Tuesday.
Alicia Ann Dykes, 20, of Castleberry was killed in the crash that also injured Robert DelGadillo, 32, also of Castleberry. The accident was reported at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, a spokesperson said.

DelGadillo was taken by ambulance to D.W. McMillan Hospital. The extent of his injuries is not known.

According to reports from witnesses, the vehicle may have flipped as many as two times coming to rest in an upright position. It is believed the vehicle may have blown a tire while traveling north on U.S. 31 just north of the old Sierra Mattress Company location when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle. Torn sod and debris could be seen scattered along several hundred feet leading up to the final resting place of the vehicle.

Members of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department, the Brewton Police Department, D.W. McMillan Ambulance Service, Appleton Volunteer Fire Department and the Escambia County Rescue Squad responded to the accident. Alabama State Troopers officials also responded to the scene.

An investigation into the cause of the accident will remain open.
