William Yancey Jernigan IV

William Yancey Jernigan IV, 43, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011. He was a native of Century, Fla. and lived most of his life in Brewton. He was a graduate of T.R. Miller High School and Auburn University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emily Wood and William Yancey Jernigan III.
He is survived by his wife, Emmie Pilcher Jernigan; three sons, Yancey Jernigan V, Lyon Alexander Jernigan and Joseph Blake Jernigan; three sisters, Ruth Jernigan Parker of Brewton, Martha Jernigan Scott of Lanett, and Elizabeth Jernigan Rodgers of Auburn.
Memorial services will be held Friday, July 22, at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Brewton, with the Reverend Ed Glaize officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Yancey Jernigan Foundation, P.O. Box 37, Brewton, Ala. 36427. The Foundation will provide financial and emotional support to families fighting cancer in Escambia County, Ala. Memorials may also be made to the First United Methodist Church in Brewton.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 22, from 1 until 3 p.m. at the Brewton First United Methodist Church. Private Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Brewton, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
