The 2011 version of the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk volleyball team will begin preparing for their upcoming season Monday.
“We are eagerly waiting for Monday’s start date for volleyball practice,” JDCC Lady Warhawk head coach Misti Nims said. “The girls are ready to have more one-on-one time and position specific practices. The summer allowed the girls to bond and condition. With the warm weather, and afternoon storms, this did not allow for too much outside work. However, as a hole the team is in great shape. All but three girls are right out of high school, which allowed most of them to stay on a workout routine through the spring and into the summer. We are very tall this season and I anticipate a much different look for JDCC volleyball in 2011.”
Nims and the Lady Warhawks will begin their season Saturday, Aug. 27, on the road in Mobile against the University of Mobile JV team.
The schedule for the Lady Warhawks shows 21 total games and four tournaments. All tournaments are on the road with 11 of the regular season games being at home and 10 on the road.
JDCC will have conference games against Wallace State-Selma, Gadsden State, Sneads, Southern Union, Lawson State, Wallace State, and Faulkner.
