BYF Mites defeat NW Escambia 15-6

The Brewton Youth Football Mites have a motto for their 2011 season: “It’s Showtime.”
The motto rang true Saturday in their game against the Northwest Escambia Eagles as they won 15-6.
The show began with a 61-yard touchdown run by Devonta Bradley who added 138 yards rushing to his stats. Braidyn Jackson punched in the extra point to bring the scored to 7-0 in the first quarter.
The second quarter saw Da’marious Luckey with a 52-yard touchdown and sacks by Toby Jenkins and Jamal Duggans.
With the scored 13-0 in the third quarter, the Tiger defense drove the Eagles back for a safety upping the score to 15-0.
The Eagles had the last score of the game with a failed extra point attempt. Quarterback Demonte Jenkins had 101 yards rushing on four carries in the win for Brewton.
Leading in tackles for the Tigers were Jackson, Bradley, Jenkins and Logan Bush,
Daquan Johnson recovered a fumble in the fourth aiding in the 15-6 win.
In other Brewton Youth Football games, the Brewton Mini Mites lost 7-0 and the Midgets lost 33-6.
DeMarquis McMillan scored the lone touchdown on a 52-yard run.
