JDCC basketball gets first win

Earlier in the year, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team lost to Pensacola State College 75-53 to start the season.
Tuesday at home, JDCC got revenge as they posted their first win of the season, a 48-46 win over Pensacola State to improve to 1-3 this season.
JDCC trailed Pensacola State 27-20 after the first half but responded in the second half to hold a nine-point advantage, 28-19, to get the win by two.
Turmonte Ragland led JDCC with 14 points and Sherman Presswood followed with 11 points. R.J. Bowers added eight points while Gabriel Rice chipped in seven. Larel Jackson and D.J. Jackson both had four points each in the win.
Ragland also led with four steals and Rice led with five blocks. Larel Jackson led with seven assists and seven rebounds including six defensive rebounds.
JDCC will be back in action Wednesday at Tallahassee as they take on Miami Dade and will also play Thursday in Tallahassee against Catawba.
The Warhawks will play Tuesday, Nov. 29 in Montgomery against Huntingdon’s JV team before returning home Saturday, Dec. 3 to take on Gadsden. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
