JDCC Warhawks basketball gets fourth straight win to improve to 4-3

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team increased their winning streak to four games Tuesday on the road as they defeated Huntingdon by 37 points, 97-60.
The four game win streak improves the Warhawks record to 4-3 this season.
In the game Tuesday for JDCC, the Warhawks fell behind early 2-0 before going on a 10-0 run and leading by as much as 47 points late, according to head coach Allen Gainer.
JDCC outscored Huntingdon by 23 points in the first half, 55-32. In the second half, JDCC outscored Huntingdon by 14 points, 42-28, to get the win by 37 points.
The Warhawks have five players in double figures in the win with Turmonte Ragland leading the way with 16 points. Brandon Scott followed with 14 points and Sherman Presswood added 13. Larel Jackson and Adam Stumpf added 11 points in the win for the Warhawks of JDCC.
Other scorers for JDCC included Gabriel Rice with eight points, Regis Timmons with seven, D.J. Jackson with six points and Derell Washington with four points. Jermaine Williams added three points and Malcolm Bell and Sedric Rudolph had two points each.
Ragland led the Warhawks with five steals and Rice and Rudolph both had two blocks in the game.
Scott led with six assists and seven total rebounds including five on defensive and two on offensive. Washington also had seven rebounds with six coming on defense.
JDCC shot 51 percent from the field and 40 percent from the 3-point area. The Warhawks were 15-for-17 from the free throw line in the win for 88 percent shooting.
JDCC will be back in action Saturday, Dec. 3, at home against Gadsden. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
JDCC will have only two more games in the month of December. The Warhawks will take on Marion Military, Thursday, Dec. 8 at 5 p.m. in Brewton and will play at Wallace Hanceville, Saturday, Dec. 10, at 4 p.m.
Following the game at Hanceville, JDCC will be off until Friday, Jan. 6 when they will return home to play Southern Union.
Game time is set for 3 p.m. at Warhawk Gym.
