Mr. William “Billy” Steven Jones, 69, of Dixon Nursery died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 in a Mobile hospital after a brief illness. He was a
native of Brewton, and a former resident of Mobile, before moving back to Brewton in 1999. He was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church, a graduate of T.R. Miller High School, and a former member of the American Legion. He was retired from Scott Paper Company with more
than 29 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Sims Jones of Brewton; two daughters, Stephanie Jones Gates of Saraland, and Christina Jones of
Brewton; a son, Clint Gates of Saraland; five grandchildren, Brittany Gates, Chad Gates, Chase Gates, Briana Jones, and Levi Fuqua; his
uncles, Richard (Marggie) Thompson and Pouge (Betty) Thompson, both of Dixonville; and a sister, Jean Bailey of Milton.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 31, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Cadenhead and the Rev. Billy
Thompson officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
