WSNMS softball defeats Atmore 15-6 Thursday to improve to 2-0

Playing against Atmore for the second time in three days Thursday, the W.S. Neal Middle School Lady Eagle softball team improved to 2-0 with a 15-6 win.
The Lady Eagles scored 12 runs in the second inning to help seal the win.
W.S. Neal led Atmore 3-1 after the first inning and 15-3 after two innings following their 12 runs in the second. In the inning, W.S. Neal had only three hits.
After being held scoreless in the third inning, Atmore plated three runs on one hit in the bottom of the third inning, but the Lady Eagles were able to hang on for the nine-run win.
Maddisen Winchester, Haleigh Dubose, and Kendra Collins all had one hit each in the win while Adria Barnett had two.
Dubose earned the win on the mound for W.S. Neal.
W.S. Neal was scheduled to play at Central of Allentown Friday in a doubleheader and will return to action next Friday at T.R. Miller at 4 p.m.
