TRM JV baseball splits with Flomaton Monday

In their first games of the season Monday at home against Flomaton, the T.R. Miller JV baseball team earned a split to start their season 1-1.
The JV Tigers lost game one to the Hurricanes 7-1 before rebounding in game two to get a 7-4 win.
The Tigers will be back in action Friday, March 9 at home against Escambia County. Game time is set for 4 p.m. in Brewton with the varsity playing later at 6 p.m.
Flomaton 7, TRM JV 1
Flomaton scored five runs in the third innings on one hit and two Tiger errors to help key a 7-1 win over the JV Tigers in game one Monday.
Flomaton and T.R. Miller both scored one run each in the second inning before the Hurricanes used the big third inning to take a 6-1 lead. T.R. Miller failed to score the remainder of the game while Flomaton added one more run in the fourth to get the win by six.
Jared Cooper took the loss on the mound for the Tigers pitching two inning. Zac Griffin went the final three innings for the Tigers.
At the plate, Jones Manning was 2-for-2 with one RBI and Keaton Parker was 1-for-3. Todd Mayo was 1-for-2 and Chris Jones was 2-for-2.
TRM JV 7, Flomaton 4
In game two, T.R. Miller evened their record at 1-1 as they defeated Flomaton 7-4.
The two teams were tied 1-1 after one inning before the Canes plated two in the second inning to take a 3-1 lead.
T.R. Miller would get three runs each in the third and fourth innings while holding the Hurricanes to one in the fourth to get the win by three.
Tripp Floyd earned the win on the mound for the Tigers working the final three innings in relief of Ryann Gray who pitched the first two innings.
Floyd gave up one hit and struck out five over the final three innings.
At the plate, Parker was 1-for-1 with a single and two RBIs in the fourth while also scoring two runs. Jones was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and Cooper was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
Manning scored two runs in the win while Hunter Harp had one RBI.
