The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team came away with a split Sunday at home against Chattahoochee Valley to see their record go to 6-13.
JDCC won game one over CVCC 11-2 before losing game two 7-2 in extra innings.
“We played well the first game,” JDCC head coach Misti Nims said. “We had really good at bats which we have been working on all week. The girls were more focused and Mallori (Armstrong) pitched a great game. The second game went to extra innings. We had base runners every inning and failed to utilize those opportunities to score. We made one key mistake defensively, walked two and hit one which allowed a five-run eighth for CVCC.”
Earlier in the week, JDCC was swept by Northwest Florida State College in Niceville to drop their record to 5-12. The Lady Warhawks lost both games by scores of 8-0.
JDCC is scheduled to be back in action Tuesday when they travel to Central Alabama. Game time is set for 2 and 4 p.m. in Alexander City.
JDCC will return home Friday, March 9, when they take on Carl Sandburg at 1 and 3 p.m.
