Mary Jane Dees Cunningham

Mrs. Mary Jane Dees Cunningham, 65, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012. She was a member of Second Marietta Baptist Church and New Generation Baptist Church. She worked at Evergreen Hospital for many years as a dietitian and was a volunteer for the Castleberry Community Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rufus Cunningham Sr.; and a son, Michael L. Cunningham.
She is survived by her sons, Rufus Cunningham Jr. of Cincinnatti, Ohio, Danny E. Cunningham of Castleberry and Alvin D. Cunningham of Birmingham; three daughters, Cassandra Cunningham of Junction City, Kan., Carolyn A. Rogers and Claudette L. Cunningham, both of Greensboro, N.C.; her sisters, Mamie Nettles, Susie Floyd, and Eloise Jenkins, all of Castleberry, Martha Locke, Theresa Armstrong and Elizabeth (Timothy) Watkins, all of Montgomery, four brothers (desceased) Claude Goodson, Mason Dees, James Armstrong and Ivory Armstrong, all of Castleberry; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. at Presley-Fluker Funeral Home chapel in Evergreen. Burial followed at Second Marietta Church Cemetery in Castleberry, with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
