TRM JV and WSNMS softball split Tuesday

The T.R. Miller JV softball team and the W.S. Neal Middle School softball team moved their scheduled Friday game to Tuesday and the two teams came away with a split at the Brewton YMCA Sports Park.
T.R. Miller won game one 23-3 while W.S. Neal took game two 10-5. With the split, T.R. Miller improved to 3-1 while the Lady Eagles of East Brewton also went to 3-1.
In game one, T.R. Miller scored 18 runs in the first inning to get the win.
The Lady Tigers added five runs in the bottom of the second while W.S. Neal scored all three of their runs in the third inning.
Taylor Austin was the winning pitcher for T.R. Miller. Austin pitched one inning and allowed one hit and no walks. Lizzy Pollitte pitched one inning and allowed one hit, no walks, and struck out two.
Leslie Holmes, Krystal Bell, and Cortney Lisenby all had a hit in the win.
For W.S. Neal, Aria Barnett, Tori Wyatt, and Madison Winchester all had hits in the loss.
Shana Kaylor and Karissa Johnson pitched for W.S. Neal in the loss.
In game two, W.S. Neal won 10-5.
W.S. Neal led 1-0 after the first inning before T.R. Miller scored four runs in the third inning and one in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead. In the last inning W.S. Neal plated nine runs on one hit as the Lady Tigers walked six W.S. Neal batters, hit one batter and committed four errors.
Austin pitched for T.R. Miller going four innings and allowing four hits, six walks, and hit one batter. Pollitte went1/2 inning allowing no hits, struck out one, and walked two. Kassie King, Hannah Weaver, Bell, and Madalyn Weaver all had hits.
For W.S. Neal, not hitting stats were known but Haleigh Dubose was the winning pitcher as she improved to 3-0 this season.
