Mr. Alexander Hawthorne, Jr., 55, died Friday March 2, 2012 in a local hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of the Boykin community. He worked for T. R. Miller Mill Company for 37 years, and was of the Baptist faith.  He was preceded in death by his father Alexander Hawthorne, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Gwenda Hawthorne of Brewton; two sons, Alex Hawthorne and Malcolm Hawthorne, both of Brewton; two daughters, LaKeisha Hawthorne of Troy, and Alexis Hawthorne of Brewton; his mother, Lucille Hawthorne of Brewton; one brother Emmitt Hawthorne of Brewton; two sisters Marie Fantroy of Brewton, Carrie (Ruben) Miller of Mobile, and  Daisy Johnson of Pensacola, Fla.;  and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday March 10, at 11 a.m. from Greater Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor J. F. Atkins officiating. Burial followed at Greater Mt.
