Mrs. Bessie Mae Cooper Holmes, 88, of Hwy. 29, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at her residence after a brief illness. She was a native of Baldwin County and a life long resident of Brewton. She was of the Baptist faith, worked in the meat market at Daulphin’s Food Store for 10 years and was a retired employee from the Escambia County Courthouse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Holmes; and a daughter, Doris Jean Holmes. She is survived by two daughters, Lynette (Terry) Gibson of Brewton and Lisa (Eddie) Garrett of Milton, Fla.; three granddaughters, Maxi Hymel, Ashley Garrett, Meghan Satterfield; three great-grandchildren, Terra Hymel, Daniel Satterfield and Marley Satterfield. Visitation will be held Friday, March 16 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Friday, march 16 at 3 p.m. at Hoomesville Church Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Greer officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
