Mr. J.W. Tyler, 85, of Belleville Avenue died Monday, March 26, 2012 in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. He was a native of Pavo, Ga., and moved to Plant City, Fla., when he was 10 years old. After retirement from the chemical industry in central Florida he moved to Brewton where he resided for the past 26 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Tyler.
He is survived by his son, Jerry (Linda) Tyler of Brewton; a daughter, Margie (Dan) Pratt of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Lillian Lister, Bonnie Connell and Elizabeth Tadlock, all of Plant City; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 31, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 31, at 11 a.m. at Union Cemetery Brewton, with Brother Jerry Caylor officiating. Burial will follow with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
