Mrs. Betty Gene Hawthorne Polk, 72, of Stick City Road, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in a local hospital after a brief illness. She was a native and life long resident of Brewton. She had attended Pine Level Baptist Church. She was a former seamstress from Vanity Fair and a former clerk at Coleman’s Drug Store in Flomaton.
She is survived by her husband, William Polk of Brewton; two daughters, Cyndi (Don) Norsworthy and Pat Haley, both of Brewton; four grandchildren, Nathanial Mote, Shawna Moore, Phillip Norsworthy and Tori Madden; and three grandchildren, Michael, John, and Allie.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 30, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Jay, Fla. with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
