Mrs. Irma O. Chambers, 53, died Sunday, April 9, 2012. She attended Booker T. Washington High School and Southern Normal School. She had been employed at Westgate Village, Goodwill Industries and Conecuh Sausage Factory.
She is survived by her son, John A. Chambers; her father, Elbert L. Chambers of Brewton; a companion, Alonza Kent Jr.; five sisters, Ella (Rolly) Holmes of Pensacola, Fla., and Rosie Chambers, Clara Chambers, and Edna (Aaron) Anderson, all of Brewton, and Mary (Rodney) Gantt of Castleberry; two brothers, Elbert Chambers Jr. of Brewton, and Albert (Allison) Chambers of Atmore; two aunts, Pearlie Ruffin of Brewton, and Margaret Bailey of Brooklyn, N.Y.; an uncle, Herman (Jessie) Farrish of Brewton; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 14, at 1 p.m. at First St. Siloam Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Cheatham officiating. Burial followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
