Joseph Arends Sowell Jr.

Mr. Joseph Arends Sowell Jr., 90, died March 30,2012 in Nashville Tenn. He was a native of Brewton and had been a resident of Nashville coming from Brewton. He was one of the founding partners of Brewton Insurance and Real Estate Agency until 2006. He was a graduate of T.R. Miller High School and attended Georgia Tech University until enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps. After World War II, he returned to Georgia Tech and completed his degree. He was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Brewton and a member of the Brewton Rotary Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ethel Sowell; and his wives, Caroline Fountain Sowell, Ruth Sowell and Daisy Mae Sowell.
He is survived by a son, Joe A. (Joanne) Sowell III; two grandsons, Joseph Arends Sowell IV and Jacob Franklin Sowell; his sister, Janet Harp; a brother-in-law, Bubba (Martha) Fountain; and four nephews.
