Cal Ripken teams see wins in Thursday games

In East Brewton Cal Ripken baseball and softball games Thursday night, the EB Yankees and Rangers took wins while the Orioles lost.
The EB Yankees came away with an 8-3 win. The Rangers defeated the Canes 12-3 while the Brewton Thunder defeated the Orioles 9-5 in softball action.
EB Yankees 8, Brewton Mets 3
The East Brewton Yankees took down the Brewton Mets 8-3 Thursday.
Conner Huskey earned the win on the mound and allowed eight hits, three runs, walked one and struck out 14 in the win.
Kristin Taylor had a double at the plate while Austin Majors had a single and a double. Brandon Moye and Huskey had a double each while Tucker Davenport had a single.
For the Mets, Jason Konsler, Cameron Pope and Joseph Blackburn all pitched and allowed six hits, eight runs, walked seven and struck out six.
At the plate, Micah Flores and Hunter Johnson had a single along with Adam Holmes. Konsler had a homerun in the win.
Rangers 12, Canes 3
The Rangers trio of pitching allowed one hit in a 12-3 win over the Canes.
Kristian Nelson, Matt Thomas and Jacobey Hawthorne allowed one hit, three runs, four walks and struck out 11.
Dillon Emmons pitched for the Canes and allowed eight hits, 12 runs, walked eight and struck out nine.
Cameron Cannon had the lone hit for the Canes making a double.
For the Rangers, Hawthorne, Weston Riddle, Hayden Winchester, and Tyler Pierce all had singles while Matt Hutchins and P.J. Lovelace had two singles.
Brewton Thunder 9, Orioles 5
In softball action Thursday, the Brewton Thunder defeated the Orioles 9-5.
For the Thunder, Steely Ruzic allowed four hits, five runs, walked nine and struck out eight.
Grace Ruzic, Hailey Thompson and Mary Madison Brown all had a single each.
For the Orioles, Hailey Dubose allowed three hits, nine runs, walked eight and struck out 11.
Erin Hartsel had singles, Dubose had a triple and Abbie Sessions had a single.
