With the school year just a week from being over, some parents may have concerns about nutritional meals for their children. That problem is solved for anyone under the age of 18 – at least for the month of June.
Officials with the Escambia County School System have made arrangements to offer a summer meal program for students throughout the county. The meals will be served in the Brewton/East Brewton area at W.S. Neal Elementary School’s lunchroom. The school is located on Williamson Street in East Brewton just off Forrest Avenue.
Janice Salter, child nutrition supervisor with Escambia County Schools, oversees the summer lunch program and has released information for meals being offered next month.
Free meals will be offered at breakfast and lunch for any person under the age of 18. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Meals will be served beginning June 4 with the breakfast meal and will continue through the lunch meal on June 28.
