Mrs. Joel Roseanne DuVerney Merritt, 56, died Friday, June 8, 2012 at a local hospital. She was a native and long-resident of New Orleans, La., before moving to Brewton in 2005. She was a professional vocalist for more than 37 years and performed with the Fugowees Band. She was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde D. Merritt of New Orleans; five sons, Russell (Rebecca) Pintado of Brewton, Joseph Pintado, Lee Merritt, Henry Merritt and Darren Merritt, all of New Orleans; three sisters, Jill White of Atlanta, Ga., Joan DeVerney of New Orleans, and Jean Bonnet of Gatlingburg, Tenn.; and two grandchildren, Max and Olivia Pintado, both of Brewton.
Memorial services will be held at a later date with Craver’s Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
