James Hyte Barnett

Mr. James Hyte Barnett, 82, a resident of Castleberry’s London community, died Monday morning July 2, 2012 in a Pensacola, Fla., health care facility after an extended illness. He was was a native and life long resident of Conecuh County. He worked as a mechanic for Cotton Hutchison for 40 years and served with the national guard. He was a member and former Deacon of London Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Elwanda Reeves Barnett.
He is survived by one son, Ronald (Linda) Barnett of Brewton; one daughter, Karen (Joey) Money of East Brewton; two brothers, Robert (Bessie Ruth) Barnett and William (Marie) Barnett, both of Castleberry; eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at London Baptist Church in Castleberry on Tuesday, July 3, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Tommy White officiating. Burial followed in the London Baptist Church Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
