Charles Edward Swick Sr.

Mr. Charles Edward Swick Sr., 90, resident of Sherman, Texas, for the last six years, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at a Denison, Texas medical facility. He was a native of Philippi, W.Va., and a former resident of Milton, Fla., where he was a ham operator in a local club. He was retired from the U.S. Navy having served for 20 years and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 13 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Loreen Willett Swick in December of 1966. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sherman.
He is survived by his sons, Charles E. (Faye) Swick Jr. of Kennesaw, Ga., and Kenneth D. ( Jennifer Ann) Swick of Sherman; a daughter, Ginger Francis ( H.T.) Woodruff of Jay, Fla.; a brother, Dearl (Shirley) Swick of Flemington, W.Va.,; and grandchildren, Tom ( Tracey) Woodruff of Marietta, Ga., Jason ( Peyton) Swick of Argyle, Texas, Kelly Renee (Mathew) Fletcher of Texarkana, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Grady Fletcher, Marley Ann Fletcher and Jonas Swick.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 16, at the Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel at 9 a.m. Graveside services will follow at 10 a.m. at Flomaton Cemetery with military honors and directed by Flomaton Funeral Home.
