DeWilla ‘Dee’ Green Hillman

Mrs. DeWilla “Dee” Green Hillman, 69, died Thursday, July 26, 2012 in a local nursing home after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Grace Green of Union Springs; and brother, Dennis Green of Nashville, Ga.
She was a homemaker for many years, but returned to college to achieve a dual bachelors degree in math and chemistry from Auburn University at Montgomery, and a master’s degree in education at Livingston University. She taught math at Repton High School for two years, followed by 17 years at T. R. Miller High School and was an adjunct instructor at Jefferson Davis Community College. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brewton.
She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Charles Hillman of Brewton; three daughters, JoAnna H. Strickland of Pace, Fla., and Christina L. (Robert) Heilmann and Kate E. Hillman, both of Pensacola, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Margaret Jennings, Grace Barnes, Mikah Hillman, Blaize Sullivan, and Broden Sullivan; and one great grandchild, Dalton Jennings.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday July 28, at Union Cemetery in Brewton, with the Rev. John Mathieu officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
