JDCC nurses pinned in ceremony

Some 26 students were honored during pinning ceremonies held in the Woodfin-Patterson Auditorium on the Jefferson Davis Community College campus Monday night. The pinning siginfied the completion of the nursing program offered at the local college.
Among the nurses pinned were Meagan Baggett, Kristi Benner, Shelly Bevis, Sara Braddock, Courtney Campbell, Jason Campbell, Donna Coleman, Chelsea Davis, Julianne Garcia, Carla Gardner, Cristina Harvell, MaKenna Hudson, Michael Loewen, Jackie Luecht, Aundrea McClammy, Terrisha Murphy, Alicia Nichols, Cynthia Phelps, Katherine Phillips, Rachel Quick, Kysta Reeves, Brenda Rossignol, Chelsea Sansom, Renee Savoie and Lauren Watson.
During ceremonies special recognition was given to those students who made special achievements during the course of study.
Named as valedictorian for the class was Michael Loewen. A three-way tie for the honor of salutatorian was held between Shelly Bevis, Sara Braddock and MaKenna Hudson.
Sara Braddock was the recipient of the annual Norma Hammac Spirit of Nursing award presented to an outstanding student.
