Mrs. Mary Lou Godbolt, 81, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012. She was a faithful member of St. James Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Godbolt Jr.; her daughter, Amy Louise Godbolt, her son, Marvin Godbolt III; a brother, Henry Lee Minous; a sister, Annie D. Culliver and a granddaughter, Kwanesha Mariah Godbolt.
She is survived by five daughters, Eunice M. Godbolt, Alice G. (Harold) Hardy, Verna M. Godbolt, Essie M. Godbolt and Annie L. (Bradford) Pleasant; three sons, Nathaniel, James and Anthony Godbolt; 14 grandchildren; four grandsons-in-law; 13 great-granchildren; a brother, William (Joyce) Culliver; six sisters-in-law, Elouise Square, Mary Nearer, Essie Bell Robinson, Mary Emma Spears and Carolyn Samuel; one brother-in-law, Rochelle (Patricia) Allen and a host of other friends and family.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 13, at 1 p.m. at Second Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Benjamin officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
